Scripture teaches that all believers in Jesus Christ are part of His Church. The Bible uses a word picture to describe the church as the "Body of Christ." "So we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another." (Romans 12:5)

When a person trusts Christ as their Lord and Saviour, God establishes an invisible, unbreakable bond that links us to Christ and to one another. Wherever Christ followers are in the world, they soon share the joy of a common love for Christ.

Although the Bible never uses the expression "Church member", we believe that the concept is implied throughout the New Testament. Repeatedly, it urges believers to become devoted to a specific local congregation. (Romans 12:4-8)

In a culture where commitment is no longer highly valued, recognizable membership is an essential step that moves each of us into the place of committed participation. It presents the challenge to not be a spectator but to publicly affirm that the church can count on us to help fulfill the ministry God has called us to complete.

What is a member?

How can "participating membership" be described biblically? We have summarized it as an outline which helps identify the evidences of someone devoted to Christ and His church.

LIFE IN CHRIST
Receiving Christ as Lord and Saviour and obeying in water baptism.

LIFE OF GROWTH
Walking with God resulting in spiritual growth.

LIFE IN THE COMMUNITY
Significant relationships with other believers in a small group.

Steps to becoming a member of Beulah Alliance Church:

CLARIFICATION: Attend two membership classes scheduled - approximately 2 1/2 hours long.

AFFIRMATION: Participate in a personal interview with a church leader to explore your understanding of membership and whether the indicators of participating membership are true in your life.

CELEBRATION: New participating members are introduced at one of the worship services so that our community can affirm this important commitment.

Who may become a member of Beulah?

Membership is open to anyone who has received Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, who has been baptized after becoming a Christian, and who is seeking to live in obedience to the principles of God's Word.

A person can transfer membership from another congregation. Every fellowship has unique priorities of ministry, as well as varying expectations for members, or processes of leadership. We ask that everyone requesting membership complete the membership process in order to have a clear understanding of the vision and ministry of this church.
